Zoo 8/13/11

Went to the zoo yesterday. Got a few good shots That I'll share here.. Only really took pictures of the Elephants and the Giraffes. Was trying to avoid the bars + cages. Plus a lot of the other animals looked depressed.. (Poor monkeys, I always have a hard time visiting them. I guess because they are the closest to human, and I hate seeing how sad they look locked up. Totally didn't help that we went and saw the new Planet of the Apes afterwards.. Anyway enough of my rambling, Pictures!

Grrr...

I don't know what the deal is with the pictures getting those strange lines threw them when I upload them here. Kinda driving me nuts but I'm not sure how to fix it. I guess I just need a better blog place.  :(

Virginia + Charlie

My sister wanted me to take a few pictures of charlie while all dressed up. So here are a few of my favorites from it. 

The "Up" House in Herriman, Utah.

Went to the parade of homes with my family today, took a few pictures of the "Up" house, I'm not real happy with how they turned out but the house is freaking awesome. I want all the old school stuff in the kitchen, and the huge bathtub.. I think I would just live in that thing if I had it though.. Anyway.. Here they are!

This guy was awesome. That is all.

 Kid from the make a wish foundation requested a Toy Story room. Was awesome and sad all at the same time.

 Did I mention I want this stuff? Olds school kitchen stuff, reminds me of my grandparents. 

 Seriously, I'd never leave.

Hummingbird

Managed to get at least a few okay shots of humming birds today. Not really what I was looking for but it will do for now. Expect more soon.

Then and now.

Alright so this first image is before I started the photography class. I think I already had a good grasp on how things worked. However, I learned a lot about enhancing photos via Lightroom and what all the functions of my camera actually do.

This next picture was taken a couple weeks a go. Still not done with the class . Nearly there though. I can't really wait to start Photo II. The one thing I do regret is taking this class in summer. A whole semesters worth of information crammed into half a semester was pretty killer. But I pushed through.  =D

More lighting projects...

But then again, I guess every photo is an example of light. Anyway, this one is me trying to create a dappled lighting effect. Light coming through my blinds onto this old horse statue thing.

Today's project

Okay so these 2 are the ones from today, the first one is a street shot directly into the sun for a back light, silo shot. Used f22 so I could grab some lens flare in the picture. The second is an old Pepsi bottle that is photo shop'd to make the background a lot darker, as well as to tone down the highlights to give a bit more depth to the bottle. I shot it with a lamp pretty much inches from the top of the bottle.
